The Story Behind the Painting
The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is one of the most striking sights along the Outer Banks. Its distinctive black-and-white stripes are unmistakable.
Years ago, the lighthouse was moved inland to protect it from shoreline erosion. But in my painting, I've placed it beside the ocean again, where I feel it belongs — standing above the dunes and Atlantic shoreline.
This is how I wanted to remember this beautiful and historic lighthouse.
